Insulated pants from 5.11 for snowy days, where the 2-layer construction provides 5K level water resistance and 10K level breathability.
As for the main outer material, it's Hardshell 2L plain weave nylon. There are Hardshell 2L oxford nylon inserts added in the knees, and rear bottom leg areas for extra resistance of the whole design. In addition, the lining is made of 100% Ripstop nylon. All the mentioned materials i.e. plain weave nylon, oxford nylon and ripstop nylon have been reinforced with a waterproof finish.
An internal PRIMALOFT insulation layer runs through the whole design to provide softness and comfort, heat maintenance, lightness (it doesn't weigh down the entire structure), as well as the previously mentioned water resistance and breathability. At the bottom of the legs, the insulating material is equipped with a elastic tape, which prevents snow from getting inside.
Another special feature of the Bastion model are the side zippers, which can be fully opened to the bottom. This solution allows you to put on and take off the pants much faster without taking off shoes/crampons/skis.
