RWS HIGH VELOCITY HP rimfire cartridges are distinguished by a combination of high (80 m / s higher than usual) initial speed giving deep penetration with effective energy transfer due to deformation of the projectile equipped with a vertex recess.
They were created to hunt with rimfire weapons for small animals and pests (where legal). Suitable for use with long weapons and insert barrels. The copper-clad HV cartridge prevents confusion with other types of .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.
