The ARAD 5 is a hybrid of globally proven solutions combined into a single, modern design. The carbine features a semi-monolithic upper receiver and IWI’s patented CamLok barrel attachment system, which enhances modularity and facilitates weapon maintenance. Inside, it features a short-stroke piston system with a 2-position gas regulator, making the rifle ready for use with or without a suppressor.

Key Features of the ARAD 5 16"

The ARAD 5 combines the ergonomics and handling familiar from the M4 platform with solutions typical of modern piston-operated designs. As a result, shooters accustomed to the AR-15 will feel right at home with it from the very first shot.

Gas system: short-stroke piston system with a 2-position gas regulator. The standard position is for firing without a suppressor, and the “suppressed” position is for use with a suppressor. The piston system keeps the chamber cleaner than a direct-gas system, which facilitates cleaning and maintenance.

IWI CamLok barrel mounting system: a patented quick-detach (QD) barrel mounting system that simplifies maintenance and increases the carbine’s modularity.

Barrel: heavy barrel (HB) made of 4150 CMV steel in 5.56x45mm NATO caliber, 16" (approx. 406 mm) long, with a 1/2×28 thread for mounting muzzle devices and silencers.

Upper receiver: semi-monolithic construction, increasing the overall rigidity and stability of accessory mounting.

Lower receiver and control components: compatible with M4-standard lower receiver components and featuring identical handling (manual of arms), offering extensive customization options.

Magazine: standard AR-type magazine with a capacity of 30 rounds.

Stock: B5 SOPMOD stock, adjustable (overall length 31.875“ – 35.375”, approx. 810 – 899 mm).

Finish: MIL-STD Type 3 hard-anodized coating in black. An FDE version with a Cerakote finish is also available.
