Carry
Highly comfortable wearing experience comes with the padded soft belt.If the situation requires you to run a certain distance with the equipment, then a chest strap will be an excellent combination to stabilize the gear.
When all your gear stays on your back, then MOLLE panel will be available on hand. You can use this panel depending on your preference to attach the right accessory from the 5.11 offer - such as smaller pocket, pepper spray pouch to be always in hand, dedicated phone slot, etc.
There is also a 2nd alternative option for carrying the Skyweight Sling Pack - on a belt. The main carrying sling is attached with quick-release buckles. The first step is to detach this sling. Then simply put the 5.11 Skyweight Hip Belt through the dedicated hole in the backpack. The Velcro on the Hip Belt will overlap with the Velcro of the backpack and all your gear will stay in place.
Materials
Nylon 330D Ripstop - Made of Nylon with a 330 weave density, using the Ripstop weave technique. This material is well-known for its strength-to-weight ratio, as well as the ability to prevent the spread of small tears. However, the back is lined with a soft, breathable material which has also moisture-wicking proporties. Between the soft material, the 5.11 company decided to create an airflow channel.
Pockets / Equipment Organization :
- Main compartment
- 1st wall - 2 mesh open pockets
- 2nd wall - 3 mesh zippered pockets
- 1 open space between the walls
- An elastic external zippered pocket.
- An elastic open pocket on the bottom for a bottle of water. There is an option to pull and block the openings at the edges.
- A pocket for up to a 2-liter hydration system on the back side. This pocket is also equipped with an exit for a water tube so you don't have to stop during hiking to refill liquids.
